Is this a lousy cover or what? Kristie's complained about the Avon covers before and since I have 4 of Candice Hern's backlist in front of me I can say they all stink.
I've been on a bit of a reading binge and yet I don't feel like reviewing anything, so I'm posting the covers on the sidebar and that's the extent of my actually posting a comment about them. I will say Diane Perkins/Diane Gaston is going on my autobuy list. I've read 3 of her books and they are all nice solid stories, not keepers but entertaining reads.
The last time I was in the UBS I picked up February's and March's Romantic Times. I don't know why I bothered with the February one as I've read everything front he February releases that I was interested in, but I was hoping I'd missed something.
Maybe I'll post my March Wish List as there seems to be a lot coming out next month that I'll be interested in.
Have a good one, and happy reading.

Now, I would kill for that dress but then I would need the body and the hair. The red riding hood cape on the man is HAWT - ugh. The cover makes me think of hypothermia and frostbite. Not romantic!
I haven't read Hern before. I have Gaston on in the batter's cage but I'm waiting for a copy from Renee.

I get the shivers (from cold) just looking at that cover. Brrrr!
And it looks like he's pushing her sleeves down -
"Give me your frock! I'm freezing with just this cape on!"
It is bad isn't it? And honestly, don't you think someone somewhere in the depths of Avon got a very snarky laugh at romance readers in general when they picked that cover? She is with another publisher now and the cover of her latest is beautiful. And to Cindy - you should give her a try. I've read a couple of her books and she's very good.
Yoikes on the cover -- though as I recall, the book was good. I always wonder what would be going through the character's mind when they dress for this.
Number one fashion rule for romance novel cover heroes -- the cape is never to be worn without a shirt. It does not keep you warm, nor does it make you look more masculine. Fire your valet immediately. All the cool guys are *not* wearing capes without shirts. Your valet is lying, because he is trying to kill you from hypothemia so he can have the heroine for himself.
Ladies, I don't normally pay a tremendous amount of attention to covers, though I do love the artsy style that seems reserved for Historical Fiction. But, I've been paying more attention and this one really bugged me.
Cindy, give CH a try, she's pretty good, not necessarily keeper, but a nice read.
