The TBR Pile Runeth Over...

I've been adding books to my TBR pile at a dizzying pace. Between UBS finds and gift cards the darned thing is completely out of control.

Most recent acquisitions:
  • Blood Ties Book Two: Possession -- Jennifer Armintrout (paranormal-not romance)
  • Something Sinful -- Suzanne Enoch (historical, started this one the other day not that impressed)
  • The First Princess of Wales -- Karen Harper (historical fiction, I'm 90% positive I read this when it was originally released in 1984)
  • And Then He Kissed Her -- Laura Lee Guhrke (historical, I don't care if other's don't like her on-line persona, I still like her writing voice and style)
  • Voices of the Night -- Lydia Joyce (historical, I don't care if she thinks we're all idiots, like Guhrke I love her writing voice and style)
  • Beau Crusoe -- Carla Kelly (historical)
  • Body Check -- Deidre Martin (contemporary)
  • Beyond Daring -- Kathleen O'Reilly (Blaze)
  • The Roofer -- Erica Orloff (women's fiction?)
  • Hating Valentine's Day -- Allison Rushby (chick lit)
  • Lover Revealed -- JR Ward (paranormal romance)

What to read first??

That is quite a haul, Tara; I don't think I could resist the Ward, and then I'd go for the Kelly.

I agree with you on Guhrke and Joyce, btw.

Maybe the Joyce book. Which is what I'll be reading after I finish Succubus Blues by Richelle Meade.

The Roofer is hard to classify. The best I came up with was "crime fiction" and that's pretty thin. It's a gritty read, but since you liked Dirty, I think you'll like TF too....

Body Check.

The Roofer was a chick lit book but I would say its just fiction.

Megan, I'm 160 pages into the Guhrke--LOL. Started after I logged off earlier. I think the Kelly is up next. I'm resisting the Ward because I'm still in the afterglow of Demon Moon and didn't want another paranormal to infringe on it :D

I agree with you on Guhrke and Joyce, btw. :D

Mamx, I've only read a couple of Kelly books but I like her style.

Sandy, Succubus Blues is on order, so it'll be added to the TBR pile soon. It was a toss up between the Guhrke and the Joyce. I'm looking forward to it.

Wendy, I put the ? because I was clueless as to how to categorize it. It was a must after all Jane and your praise.

Jane, Body Check? I didn't expect anyone to say read that first. Maybe it'll move up the pile :D

I think you should start with Lover Revealed. I loved it.

Your Lydia Joyce comment made me laugh!! I read a review somewhere that said the book is really good. But I didn't like the last one so I am waiting to see what everyone else thinks before I spend the cash.

I was interested in Joyce after reading one of Jane's reviews. I like darker, grittier historicals. Penelope Williamson made me swoon.

If you like a straight contemp (no suspense, etc), then you'll like this one. It's one of my favorite contemporary romances in the last 10 years.

Nikki, I'm not quite in the frame of mind for a paranormal. I expect the Joyce will be a good one.

Annie, Joyce has a great voice, give her a try.

Jane, It's one of my favorite contemporary romances in the last 10 years. :D It's definitely moved up the TBR pile.

Since you know what my answer will be I won't push ;) I see why you have decided on another route - I started a Gurke way back but wasn't pulled in - I have heard the latest one is great. I need to try Joyce - I'm not big on worrying about author behaviour.

all the talk about author behavior reminded me that some author who writes i think historical romances only uses plot from other sources for her books. the whole plot. who was that and someone said it wasnt good to do that .
