Just a quick post to say Susan Squires' The Burning turned out to be a much better book than I had expected.

Originally I had read about half the book, and was really put off by the so many flashbacks, so when I picked it back up this morning I didn't expect much. Ah, of course, I put it down right before it got really very good. If I have time to write a review in the next couple of days I will.

Have a great weekend, and happy reading.

I'm glad to hear it. I have the Hunger (Thanks to Jay!) and Sacrament, and I haven't started in on them yet, but will soon.

Which is the first?

Megan, Susan Squires has written this whole series out of order, so I hope I'm getting this right:

The Sacrament (which technically isn't part of the series)
The Hunger
The Companion
The Burning

This is probably my favorite vampire series, I don't read Feehan, Kenyon or MacAlister.

But I do read Squires (obviously--LOL) Ward, and Viehl.

Actually, The Companion came out before The Hunger. I loved the Companion, which is really unusual, given that I am not a vampire fan. I still haven't worked up the nerve to read The Hunger. I think I'm afraid I won't like it as much as I did The Companion.

Hi Lori, I listed them in chronological order not the order they were written in.

After thinking about it, I'm pretty sure The Sacrament is set after The Hunger.

I love this series, and I agree The Companion is a tough act to follow, but I really like The Hunger too. Out of the 4 books, this one was the hardest to get into.
