This morning I was too lazy to run back upstairs to grab Linda Howard's
Midnight Rainbow. On my way out the door I picked up a book off my downstairs bookshelf, Alison Kent's Goes Down Easy. I've had this book for months, but I don't read much category, I know I need to change this, but for some reason it really is the last type of romance I reach for. I grabbed it simply because I figured I'd be able to finish it while Junior was in school.
Well, wasn't I surprised when it turned out to be a spin-off of
Four Men & A Lady. I liked 4M&AL, but I thoroughly enjoyed GDE. It's going on my keeper shelf. I've read a few other Alison Kent's in the past, and liked them. But, this one's made me a fan, she's going on my autobuy list.

A keeper huh? Wow, I may have to try it. I have 4M&AL in my TBR along with about a hundred other categories. I've practically given up reading them. I think I only read a handful last year. May need to find a synopsis on this one.
Renee, after I read it I went searching for reviews, RT only gave it 3 stars, but for some reason it really worked for me. Finished it in one sitting.
LOVE 4M&AL.... I so suggest Kiss & Makeup, in fact I would rec the Do Not Disturb series.
I have to admit I Blaze doesn't always work for me but I have authors I can almost always count on to entertain. Alison Kent is high on that list, as well as Jo Leigh, Nancy Warren, Vicki Lewis Thompson, Jill Shalvis, Julie Leto (sorry if I any names are not spelled right). And I have picked up a few by Jamie Sobrato because I love her blog.
Ooo, which one of 4M&AL pack was it? I've been wanting to follow-up on that one.
Most of her categories have been keepers for me! And all her Bravas.
How does one go about selecting a good category romance? I must admit, I've had very hit-or-miss luck with that. I'm much better at scouting out good single titles.

Kate D--I'm with you, normally it's completely hit or miss. When I read more category, I found the RT reviews were pretty good, but I don't really know how the reviews hold up now.
