Okay, "Bites" is probably to strong of a negative, but if I hadn't of loved the first half of this book, I would probably have disliked it as much as Faking It.
For me it was one of those books that's about 150 pages too long. It felt like the book ran out of story around page 250, but since it needed to be 391 pages, the last 140 seemed like filler.
It was another book with really bitchy Moms. I'm really starting to hate that--LOL. I love my mom and have a wonderful relationship with her, but if she ever talked to me the way Min's mother did to her, I'd be telling her to shut the f*** up, and that is one word I have never used in front of my mom and probably never will.
My husband is threatening to throw out books if I don't do something with the home office (these are books I've already read and they are taking over the space.) But, I feel like procrastinating and started reading Marjorie M. Liu's Tiger Eye. I'm not real sure about this one either, she's being compared to Feehan and Kenyon and I'm not a huge fan of either of them.
Have a great day and happy reading.

I liked it but I'd have to read it over to see if the too long feeling you had was the same for me.
Anyway, about the excess books (I have the same problem), if it's books you don't care to read again there's the usb, of course but also book trading. Do you do it?
Hi La karibane, I have an excellent UBS locally, which will be getting several bags of books and I do belong to a trade group. I'm also donating some to the local library and a church thrift shop. Spreading the wealth--LOL.
I really think Bet Me is one of those books that you either really LOVE or really dont. I dont think I've run across anyone who only had meh feelings about it.
Jay--I loved the first half of the book, but after that it crashed and burned and by the end I was sick of the whole bunch of them. I hate when that happens.
Oh Tara Marie - you've just dissed THE Crusie book. May the force be with you. BET ME fan girls may start popping out of the woodwork.
Not me though. Never read Crusie. That's right - never.
And good luck weeding the books. I've done a couple of times this year alone, and should probably weed again. Just can't bring myself to do it though. So instead I'm tightening the belt and slowing down my buying.
Oh, no, I was so sure you were going to love it!
I know exactly what you mean about fillers. I've read many a book that should have ended much earlier than they actually did.
Wendy--you're scaring the heck out of me--LOL.
Rosario--It's not that I hated it, I just liked the first half much better than the 2nd--LOL.
Karen--this book needed to be edited way down, there is nothing wrong with a 250 page book if it works.
I agree with you about the filler in Bet Me. I have never read Feehan or Kenyon but I did like Tiger Eye. It did have its problems, some things not explained. I agreed with AAR's review. Let us know what you think when you're done.
There were parts of "Bet Me" I liked, but also parts that were so obvious to me. Plus the whole donut thing at the end creeped me out. I just got Tiger Eye, I want to know what you think, too.
And I would tell my mom to shut the f*** up, but she'd never talk to me that way either. Us moms get a bum rap in romance, huh?
