Books, books, books...

Thursday we went to the library for our weekly "Story Time" and I picked up a few books. And, Saturday we hit B&N--I'm still using my gift cards, if I'm careful with said gift cards, I may make it to the March book releases.

At the library I picked up Mary Balogh's Simply Unforgettable and a couple more Kasey Michaels' books. I have absolutely no interest in the Michaels, but I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED SIMPLY UNFORGETTABLE. I love Mary Balogh, probably bordering on fangirl, so it's not a huge surprise that I would love this one.

I listed the book as great, but it has a few problems, yet I enjoyed it enough to overlook anything I didn't think was perfect. I haven't looked for any reviews, but I'm sure you can find one over on RT or AAR, and I'm pretty sure I actually did read a review on Rosario's Blog, but I don't remember when that was, if I get ambitious I'll go search out the post and link it here.

I have no idea how I missed this when it came out last March. The only thing I can think of I was being cheap and decided to wait for the MM release. I'm glad I decided to pick it up at the library.

Saturday's visit to B&N was also successful. I found a Paula Quinn and the new Anne Stuart The Devil's Waltz. I've got one thing to say about it ANNE STUART ROCKS!! It doesn't matter if it's romantic suspense or historicals her books are great and this one is no exception. I started this as soon as we got home, put it down long enough to have some pizza for dinner and get Junior in the shower and into bed. And, finished it before 9:00 last night.

We have a house full of company coming today and I need to get in the shower and get to Mass. If I have time, I may try to post an actual review of The Devil's Waltz sometime tonight or tomorrow.

Have a good one, and happy reading.

Tara

You're absolutely right, I did blog about it a few months ago. Here's a link to that post, so you don't have to go searching ;-)

So, what were the problems you saw?

Oh, I love Balogh and Stuart, too. Cannot wait for the Devil's Waltz, although I'll probably avoid your review until after I've read it. Which should be Wednesday or so (not that I've gotten it yet, but I'm that much of a fangirl to inhale it immediately).

I picked up The Devil's Waltz the other day and you're the second reader I've seen today to give it glowing accolades. I'm going to have to read this one after I'm finished my final book for Jan's challenge and Memory in Death.

And between you, Rosario, Megan and Cindy - I just may give Balogh another go - in MM of course.

I've not read a Balogh since intensely disliking her last book in the family series she did. I've bought Secret Pearl, though. Anne Stuart is an autobuy & it's on the TBR.

Anne Stuart's Devil's Waltz is on the shelves!!!

*runs into wall* OW! 'Have to get to a bookstore!!!'

It's midnight. Now I won't be able to sleep ;(

Cindy - can't read your review until I read the book either.

Gahh, The Devil's Waltz is out??!!?? Must get to bookstore on my lunch hour tomorrow. And I was trying to be so good and not buy 'til my TBR pile has shrunk a bit. But this sounds like an emergency exception.

Rosario--I liked that Lucius seemed to have a one track mind and yet I didn't like that he allowed everyone around him to think he was planning to marry Portia, who need a good smack down in my opinion. And, once Frances realized Lucius wasn't going to stop the pursuit, and she was in love, I thought she should have been more up front about her past, but of course that would have shortened the book by 100 pages and I'm sure that wouldn't have worked for the publisher.

I'd love to see what she (Balogh) could do with Portia.

Megan--Balogh and Stuart, how could I have gone wrong reading both of them within 3 days.

Kristie--Do give Balogh another try. I haven't loved everything she's written, but find her very consistant.

Sybil--Birthday money is like gift cards, use with care.

Amanda--I haven't read The Secret Pearl, but plan to pick it up on a trip to the UBS.

Cindy, Keishon and Renee--When I saw TDW on the shelf at B&N my reaction was the same as yours--I need this NOW.
