Heiress for Hire by Erin McCarthy

This is my first book for Angie's TBR Challenge, it's not been on my TBR pile long, 5 days, but it did make it to my bedroom, which is my prerequisite for TBR pile books.

Title: Heiress for Hire
Author: Erin McCarthy
Year published: 2006

Why did you get this book? I'm fast becoming a fan Ms. McCarthy's--I love her writing voice.

Do you like the cover? Yes, but I'm not overly impressed by covers.

Did you enjoy the book? Absolutely, the story and plot are a little farfetched, but I enjoyed it anyway.

Was the author new to you and would you read something by this author again? No, she's not knew to me, but I'm going to search out the rest of her backlist, I've now read 3 of her books and enjoyed them.

Are you keeping it or passing it on? Though it's very good, it's probably not a keeper, but I may hold on to for a little while.

Anything else? Well, it does have a ghost that visits on occasion, so it may be considered a paranormal.

I really like her writing style, it's a 3rd person Chick Lit in style, but definitely romance. I finally realized that if I ever contemplated writing it would probably be similar to what my voice would sound like, but obviously her's is better with more imagination, which is what I lack and why I would never think about trying my hand at writing.

YAY glad to hear you liked it! Since I bought it 'full price' with xmas gift certs. 3 books 40 bucks! I so hate tradesize and so wish they would have bought from Borders or Waldens, coupons at B&N seem to suck. hee there is a 30% off at B or W until 1/8 out right now and I am so thinking about giving in and buying The Pregnancy Test

My first book by EM was Smart Mouth and then Date with the Otherside. I was way glad it got a sequel! So many books so lil time...

Weird question. I read Houston, We Have A Problem by McCarthy and what could have been a great read was marred by a heroine who did not stand up for herself sooner (as in, NOW you stand up?) and slangy terms for her nether regions.

Do these things still exist in her books? That's what has kept me from buying another.

Cindy--to be honest I didn't notice it in HWHAP or this book, so it's possible that it's there, but I don't think so. The hero and heroine are on the young side (mid-20's).

Sybil--I haven't read Date with the Other Side yet, and didn't realize this was a sequel. I'll try the UBS or maybe trading for it.

Oh, and Jay, I probably wont keep it, so it'll probably end up over at the trade group soon, I've been making lists, since I haven't been doing much trading.

I think I liked Date better than this one but I really liked this. I am sort of shocked because her voice isn't the type I generally read or like. But even with the chicklitishness she doesn't forget the romance and she is funny!

If you can't find it you are welcome to borrow my Date. LOL Alyssa did so she could by it at that signing thing. My book will get to meet more people than me ;).
