I'd heard 3 things about Stephenie Meyer's Twilight... 1. It's a YA novel, 2. It's a vampire story and 3. It's really good. I'm only about 1/3 through it and am amazed at how fluid the story feels.

I like books written in the first person because when they're done right you become the character, you feel what they feel, you follow their thoughts as if they're yours. You live their lives. This book reads this way. I'm Bella. And that's good writing.

I bought 4 books today so I'm plugging my ears and closing my eyes. No more books for awhile because my reading is lagging far behind my TBR.

Yes, yes, yes! That's why I like 1st person too. Loved this book too.

I bought this book but am not ready to read it yet. Unlike you and Renee, I find first person stiffling sometimes. but like you say, when it's done right it rocks!

Keishon, I've already reserved the second at the Library, hopefully it's as good as the first.

Renee, I'm glad someone agreed with me--LOL. Love 1st person.

Cindy, give it a try this one "rocks".

I just finished this last night. this book made me squeeeee!! I loved it. Edward's dreamy. Great romantic tension, and that head over heels, over the top first love thing. Will be reviewing it myself real soon.

How do you guys feel about 1st person sex scenes, though? Not in YA, obviously, but for general romance?

Or erotic romance?

I can't go there, personally.. something gets very ick for me when I hear the heroine telling me more than I'd like to know, lol. ;)

Devon, I don't read a lot of YA but this one really works.

Isabella, I think it depends on the writers voice. I recently read Drop Dead Gorgeous by Linda Howard, I didn't love the book, but I didn't hate the sex scenes. Does that make sense?
