The hubby's reading romance...

Well, not really, but he's been desperate for something decent to read so I've started funneling some of my "romance lite" books to him. He just finished Jennifer Armintrout's The Turning. It was "Okay, not great." Which was kind of what I expected because he's a die hard horror reader. There wasn't enough "tension and anxiety building and too much relationship stuff."

Now he's reading Holly Lisle's I See You. He's going to like the first half of the book, but probably hate the second--it becomes a real romance in the second half. But, what the heck, I'd like to see what he thinks.

Next up Lynn Viehl's Darkyn Series, and then I think I'll pass on Susan Squire's Companion Series and Meljean Brook's novella, Falling for Anthony.

I just read the Armintrout, too--I really liked it, although it had a few plot holes even I could see. But I loved her voice, and her heroine is cool. Reminded me a bit of S.L. Viehl's Stardoc books in voice.

He might like LA Banks' books too. Just a thought. We all need happy hubbies.

Does Nicholas Sparks count? I really liked The Notebook and Message in a Bottle. (The books, though the movies were good too.)

Sybil, He only just started I See You, but I did tell him it's a romance so I wonder if that's going to color his opinion.

Megan, I liked her voice too, my husband thought you could drive a truck through the plot holes, I tended to ignore them because I was enjoying the story and voice. I haven't read S.L Viehl's Stardoc books, I'll need to look for them. I love her Darkyn books.

Amanda, I've never read LA Banks, I'll pick up a few.

Andrew, Beleive it or not I've never read Nichalos Sparks. I really do need a trip to the UBS.

You could try the Stephanie Plum books. Ron liked them and he wouldn't have been caught dead reading romance. I think the main reason why he agreed to try them is because my romance hating sister also likes them. If she did then they were *safe*.

Kristie, I hadn't thought of the Plum series, it's a good idea.
