I'm not really going blind, but between books with really small print and that eBookMan, I'm in desperate need of a new prescription for my glasses. I managed to get an appointment for today. I think I also have a clogged tear duct and I'm hoping the eye doctor can save me a trip to my GP.
Junior starts piano lessons tomorrow. We're not real sure how this is going to turn out. He'd rather take the cello, yes, I said the cello. He loves the Charlie Brown Christmas special--we've got it on tape, and he thinks that big tall instrument is a cello, it doesn't matter how many times I tell him it's actually a base, he insists it's a cello and that's what he wants to learn how to play. He's not even 4 feet tall, do they even make cellos that small?
I'm currently reading Beverly Jenkins' Sexy/Dangerous which I am thoroughly enjoying, she has an incredible voice and style. I'll be searching out her backlist at the UBS sometime this week. I have one issue, I'm a little creeped out by how Max talks to the dogs. I keep wondering what Cesar Milan (The Dog Whisperer from NGC) would think of them, though I do love the names Ruby and Ossie.
Have a good one and happy reading.

Isn't Jenkins wonderful? I've already bought 3 more of her books.
Rosario, I'm just about finished and I'm definitely hitting the UBS tomorrow.
I'm so feeling you on the small print and I think the dark backgrounds on some of the blogs are killing me! I hope your doc can fix your tear duct.
I have been hearing about the Jenkins book and wondering ;)
CindyS
Upright bass is a nightmare to carry around!
I lurrrve the chello though! Sexiest sound on earth, IMHO. Hated my piano lessons.. hope he likes his!
Yup. I'm pretty certain they make cellos that small. lol
Whoa.. did I spell cello with an "h"?
Yeeps! I was actually just writing about chello kebab to someone though.. so that's my excuse! ;)
Cindy, the prescription is only slightly stronger, but enough hopefully to make a difference. I actually have a small cyst on my lower right lid, he told me to try hot compresses to get it to go down.
Isabella, can you imagine a 5 year old with an upright bass, I can't even think about it. "Chello"--LOL--I knew what you meant.
Jen, thanks I needed to hear that--LOL. There's a music store in town that actually gives cello lessons, but we already have a nice keyboard so I'm hoping he'll enjoy the piano.
I hope your eye is better!
One of my good friends in a cello player (cellist?) She plays in a conservatory in Germany, she was in Barcelona last year. She's awfully good, and has been playing since she was about 7 or 8, I think.
It's a demanding instrument to play, she practices constantly. But it's one of the loveliest string instruments as well, isn't it?
Sam
My nephew is 6 & takes violin using the Suzuki method & loves it. Love the sound of the cello.
Sam, if he takes to the piano and likes music, we'll probably let him take cello too--LOL.
Amanda, his instructor also teaches voice, guitar and violin, I'm not sure what method though. She has a lovely voice.
